My First Father's Day

Yesterday, I celebrated my very first Father's Day with my daughter, Elora, and we had a great time.

My wife, Michele, and Elora both presented me with tickets to Babies in The Ballpark at the Skydome next month: an entire section of the Skydome for families to bring their babies and watch the Jays in action; complete with change tables.

In five years of attending Blue Jays games, I have never seen a single foul ball come my way. Anyone care to place bets that when I have my 6-month-old daughter in hand, a foul ball will come screaming towards us for the first time?

Next, we went for a picnic with my own father near his home in Aylmer, ON. The immensity of celebrating Father's Day with my father was certainly not lost on me, and I think it wasn't on him as well.

Overall, I enjoyed the day. Father's Day isn't half-bad.
