Faith and Politics
One of my students directed me to this article on faithtoday.ca. It's an interesting insight into how our Canadian political parties are dealing with the issue of faith in politics.

One addendum: The larger reasons for a lack of response from the Bloc Quebecois are related to the historical relationship of that province's people to the church. Quebec has a much more divisive and rocky relationship with religion than the rest of Canada. For example, at one time, the Catholic Church in Quebec supported the widely unpopular issue of conscription in the 1940's. Therefore, the people of Quebec connected the unjust imposition of conscription into war with religion. They have had a very troubled past of church and state relationships.
